I know it's early, but I'm just trying to plan things out (I very anal like that )
Approx how much did you spend per person if you had your child's christening at a restaurant/hall?
How many people did you invite??

Re: Christening Questions
Post reply....I was wondering the same thing. Also, are you supposed to have a DJ or is it just more of a dinner?

Re: Christening Questions
See, I really want to have it where we got married - in their brunch room. It would be about 25.00 pp BUT with just inviting CLOSE family and friends I'm at 80+ people! And I promise there is NO way to shave that list. The only reason I'm thinking about it this early (I'm 17 weeks) is because if I do have it @ Giorgios I want to book soon so we don't lose it to another function.
Dani - I wouldn't have a DJ...they usually pipe in music....

Re: Christening Questions
We had about 35 people..but Scott's family is all in MA/Canada so I never have to worry about his aunts/uncles coming to stuff. That really helps shave down a list! I had it at Old Street Pub in Smithtown. Nothing too fancy. Just a nice time to celebrate her special day.

Re: Christening Questions
If I knew the weather would be nice I would do it in my house/yard..but since May is variable - I am having it in a restaurant. I wanted to keep it simple. Most restaurants quoted anywhere from $35-40 on average for app, pasta or salad and then entree and dessert, beer, wine and soda. I am only doing close family and a few close friends - so i am inviting about 70 people.

Re: Christening Questions
Well, it's good to know I'm not crazy with 80 people. When DH and I counted it up last night his eyes bulged! I'm going to have ours in November otherwise I definitely would have it at our house. Thanks everyone!

We're deciding between the Red Grill and the Blue Oyster both in Commack. Both are about $30pp plus a bar tab. We're expecting around 80.

Re: Christening Questions
Has anyone been to Pompeii in West Hempstead? I was thinking about that place for a christening and wondered if anyone had any info for there. I also want to check out Dodeci's in Rockville Centre for prices.
