I know it is a bit early to think about Christenings - but I am trying to work on a detailed budget to see how long I can take off from work.
So some quick questions - where did you ladies hold your baby's Christening? Did you invite children?
Thanks Ladies!

Re: Christenings
You can actually plan the date pretty far in advance with the Church. We booked Molly's christening in Sept- 2 months before she was even born!
I invited only 30 people total to the Christening. We kept it small. I did have a few small children attend. Molly's christening was at the Old Street Pub in Smithtown. IMO- if you have a chose between a big fancy christening or 2 more weeks home with your baby- stay home longer!!!! Have a smaller christening and stay home as long as you can.

Re: Christenings
We had a small Baptism too. We had about 25 people in my sisters house, I then had it catered. We decided we will have a big blow-out for his 1st birthday, because by then I will be back to work

Re: Christenings
Thank you Stacey and Michele - I am leaning towards a small Christening too.
My DH's family is used to large affairs, but I am hoping that once I work the numbers out I will be able to convince my DH to have something small with just immediate family.

Re: Christenings
Jeanene, I'm doing what Michelle did. Planning the christening before she is here. I have to if I want it on LI. Going through all the motions now with the church for a late Sept. christening. She will be here the end of April. I have the place picked out and booked as well. We are having under 50 people. That's as small as I can get with DH family.
