Christening's

I know i'm early on this but wanted to start looking into it.Has anyone made plans for a Christening yet? Where are you having it? I'd love to do it outside but concidering I;m not due until Oct. It not the ideal weather for an outdoor event.
I was thinking of having it at The AOH in East Islip but thats where we had our engagment party and with the # of people it got a little cramped. Also would you have a D.J ? This is our first So I dont have a clue!!!.....lol
Thanks

Re: Christening's

I'm due in August and I was wondering the same thing about a DJ. I feel if you have it in a resturant or your home you don't need a DJ but if you have it in a hall you will. I was also wondering how long do people typically wait to Christen their child. If I have the baby in August, should I have the Christening in October of November??? Anyone out their with suggestions? Thanks.

Usually you do it within the first three months. After the baby gets it shots, which I believe is around 6 weeks, it can be done anytime after that.

The timing depends on what you want and believe. I grew up where the baptism should take place soon after birth, but I know that many people wait until the babies are older like 6-10 months.

Gabriella's is in two weeks at which time she will be 2.5 months. I wouldn't have waited so long however I had to take my In-Laws in to account that have to travel from LI to Buffalo. Kind of funny that they made a big deal about having plenty of time to plan and now most are not coming.

I am just having a backyard BBQ after the baptism, nothing big. Especially with me not working and probably being a SAHM, we can't afford to go all out. Plus, we weren't sure how many people were going to come.
