Christine - countdown swap

how are you doing?? I have about 22 of the 24 gifts...and have to think of something for the $5 gift...

how are you wrapping them?

I have some that are like 3 ft of fiber...is that enough...

then I also did a few eyelets with 4x6 paper...is that enough?

Re: Christine - countdown swap

That sounds about right.

I set a few things aside the other day. I am trying to decide what of my scrap crap to keep, sell or give away. Most of it is nice, they were impulse purchases that I know I won't use.

I have lengths of fibers, selections of brads & eyelets, buttons, some sticker packs, plain tags. The 4x6 paper is a good idea (I'll be stealing that one:D). Maybe I'll make a card or something also.

I am not sure of the $5 gift. This is more of a pain then I thought it would be.

I haven't really thought about wrapping them. I will probably just wrap them in the ziplocs I have them in now.

ETS: I figured these amounts to be about a dollar (what do you think?):

10-12 round eyelets
8-10 shaped eyelets
8-10 brads
6 shaped buttons
8-12 round buttons (depending on size)
3 ft of fiber
10 plain tags
One handmade card

I'll probably throw in some candy too.

Would a scratch off games be good someplace other then NY? Or I'll check to see if there is mega millions in the state with my partner.

I have 6 days of fiber...do you think that is too much?

Re: Christine - countdown swap

I made a card and a set of 3 gift tags for 2 of the days tonight.

Do my quantities sound ok? I am the same as you - I don't want to be cheap, but how much does a dollar get you?

The fibers sound fine! I keep trying to think of what I would like to receive.

Which is anything

Re: Christine - countdown swap

as long as we are the same together...

I included 5-10 sheets of cardstock...for a few days worth...for her $5 gift I am going to try to find a map - since thats what she requested...

I wrapped most every thing last night...just a few more...and one swap done...

Re: Christine - countdown swap

I am wrapping tonight so I can drop it off at the post office tomorrow.

I am nearly done with the swap here, I'll wrap what I have now. I have to pick up one thing I can get this weekend and I'll mail that after turkey day.

Then I can start thinking about the next recipe swap, since that should be settled by next week.

Re: Christine - countdown swap

Ok, at lunch I picked up a couple of things for this swap - a pack of tissues with cats on them (my partner has cats), a key chain that holds a picture, a glue stick and the $5.00 gift - a little leatherette notebook with a piece of elastic to keep it closed and a pen.

I am just going to pick up candy for two days, I just have to double check preferences and I am good to go.

Re: Christine - countdown swap

Never again will I ever volunteer to do anything that involves wrapping teeny tiny little packages like this

I have everything ready to go so off to the PO I go tomorrow

Re: Christine - countdown swap

I think I used more tape than wrapping paper!!!!

I just finished...and its all ready to go out tomorrow...

but it should be pretty exciting to open each...

Re: Christine - countdown swap

Same here!

Tons of tape, plus it's all the same paper:D

I am just glad I finished! I hope my partner likes everything, or at least enough of it. (I know that sounds terrible).

Did you number them to open in a particular order or did you just mark the $5.00 gift in a special way? I think I am going to let her do it grab bag style and put 'Do not open...' on the last gift.

BTW, have you been to the no kidders board this evening? They are having a love fest and its hilarious. Very sweet, but funny!

Re: Christine - countdown swap

I numbered them...b/c I wanted to space out the duplicated (same type of item - but different color or shape, etc)

I'm heading over to check out the love fest...

Re: Christine - countdown swap

I got mine today!! and she was a bit more gernerous then I was...so I am throwing in a few more things...

Re: Christine - countdown swap

how do you know she was generous? You are supposed to wait until 12/1 to start openning gifts??

Re: Christine - countdown swap

I know...but I needed to know!!!I just looked at the things I could see without unwrapping...
