We usually get our raise annually in August, but since the economy has been bad we didn’t. Should I ask if we’ll be getting raises this year or just leave it alone?

I would ask. It can't hurt to ask. They didn't talk to you about it at all?

Well, my co-worker asked around June if we'd be getting raises this year and my boss said “I don’t even want to talk about it right now”. and that was that.

Ugh. Bad sign. I didn't even expect one last year though we got a small cost of living raise. No bonus though. I would give my left arm for a bonus this year.

Hmm, ok, I guess that means no, but I would think your boss would formally say something.

we had a pay freeze this whole year. No increases whatsoever. haven't heard if 2010 will be the same....
