Do like to have a few expensive gifts under the tree, or lots of smaller less expensive stuff....
I brought my FH lots of less expensive gifts, like no more than 50 each. Lots of clothes, colonge. Stuff I know he will love.
He got me a few really expensive things. So we just finished our wrapping and there are like 6 things underneath the tree for me, and like 30 for him. He was feeling bad. I said it was ok.
I am going to be happy with what ever he brought for me. I love him, and the fact he spent his time, money and energy to make Christmas nice for me, I am grateful for this...
But I think I'd rather more stuff under the tree

Re: Christmas Question
yea i didn't get FH anything REALLY BIG.. just a lot of little things.. i think the most expensive thing was the $80 watch i bought... but he will probably have more packages to open then i will because he usually goes for the more expensive BIG GIFT (i.e. show tickets, jewels) and then a few lil ones.. i don't care.. i just want to enjoy our FIRST ENGAGED CHRISTMAS wahooo!!!!!

Re: Christmas Question
Yeah, same here. I have no idea WHAT he got me this year.... we said we would stick to 200 but I didnt... I got him alot of things though...
I dont think that I would careif there was one thing under the tree though... As long as it was from his heart... as all his gifts usually are :)

Re: Christmas Question
I'm used to getting one gift from him, but I can't complain it's always something really good. He always outdoes himself. This year I didn't go crazy though with him, I got him a cigar humidor which was only about $100 and all the accessories that go along with it. I'm usually the one who gives multiple gifts, but only get one in return.

Re: Christmas Question
We do a ton of inexpensive gifts. This year we've limited ourselves to $400 each but I know I've spent more already and I'm not done yet and he's out shopping now so I'm sure he's overspending too. I'm much rather open lots of gifts than one really expensive one.

Re: Christmas Question
I usually wind up buying FH something expensive so then he only has a couple of gifts...this year I bought him the Wii (yes, I gave in and overpaid for it on ebay ) and 3 games. His birthday is 3 days after so I bought him floor seats to a wrestling event and I have to buy him something else but I'm not sure what. My FH always asks for expensive things like videogame systems so I'm sure he'd rather have that than a bunch of little presents.
Personally, I'd rather open a bunch of smaller gifts but that's because I don't really want anything very expensive. If I really wanted something expensive I'd be happy just opening that.

Re: Christmas Question
thats how i feel. Ill be happy with the tiny gift that costs an arm and a leg... or the tiny gift that costs a dollar but is from the heart... doesnt matter to me

Re: Christmas Question
i like alot of little things... so does fh but every yr he asks for something expensive so that like cuts down half my budget!!! he normally gets around 8 gifts from me... This yr, i'm already up to about 8 and only spent half of what i normally spend... This yr he really didnt ask for that 1 BIG thing
