I booked by church for 2 pm. I did it so I can have time to take pics after the church. BUt I was thinking to change it to 3 so my guest wont have to wait a long time for the reception that starts at 6pm, but then I may not have time to take pics. Pl help, what would you do?

For a Greek ceremony keep it at 2pm. One of my BMs married into a Greek family and the ceremony was close to 2 hours. You'd be rushing if you did it at 3pm.[/QUOTE
Thanks for the info!!

You don't want to be rushed taking pictures... I would say 2. My church is at 2 and my CH starts at 7:30

keep it for 2pm...you know how greek weddings can be...it's going to start a tad bit late and run a bit over, and then you have the receiving line...your guests will then have to travel to your reception hall, so you'll be fine keeping it for 2pm
Yeah I was thinking about 'greek time' 2pm means 230, lolol. People can go for coffee in between
defintiely stick with 2pm. lol greek time and italian time are close to each other so i definitely know from experience! lol.
people can go for coffee. if people come to the church in dressy casual to the church they can change into evening wear before the reception. we do that ALOT

Yeah this is true. I have dont this before whre I wore a suit to the church but then I went home to change into my cocktail dress. My fam lives in close vicinity of the church so they can go home and touch up before the CH. Thanks!!

We start the church at 4 but we are putting three on invites and the ch starts at 7. But i think over all it depends on how long your wedding cermony is going to be and how far your rh is from your cermony location.

for intermediate family we're going to let them know 2 be @ the RH 1/2 early so we can take those photos out of the way that way WE all can enjoy the cocktail hour!

Our ceremony was at 2:30 and the reception was at 7:30 - By the time we got to the reception hall after a full mass and receiving line, it was about 4-4:15. No one seemed to complain that there was such a large gap. In fact, people said they enjoyed relaxing beforehand.

Definately stick with 2pm, you are not having a simple 20 minute ceremony, and you also have a recieving line, and dont forget you usually take pics inside the church before you walk out. So the more time the better.
Honestly who cares that guests have to wait, you need your pictures, its your day and those pics are your memories for the rest of your life!

My church is at 2:30, my ch starts at 6:30. I was concerned about what my guests are going to do during that time, but I think we are just going to put some light refreshments out at the hotel for them.
If you are going to feel more relaxed having it at 2 and rushed to get your pics done having it at 3, then stick with 2. Try to keep your wedding day as stress free as possible so you can enjoy it to the fullest.

If my guests arrive early to the CH , my hall will open the CH a half an hour early, so that way I will be gettig an hour and a half CH instead of one hour if they arrive early or they can hang by the bar for drinks

I am having church at around 1 or 1:30.... i know that it is really early but I am getting married in the fall and I want to be able to take pictures in the daylight. Plus I am having Greek Ceremony!!
I feel bad b/c CH is at 7.... but everyone lives around the area and most likely my parents will have food and stuff set up at my house for everyone....
Im having a greek ceremony too, its like an hour right, its going to take forever to double kiss everyone after the church
theceremony is actually less than an hour. i know for a fact that St.Demetrios of Astoria books event every hour..so if your wedding is at 2 the next one will be at 3...so you won't go over the hour
