Chubby Brides- Pre-wedding weight loss?

Original post by AllyDrew1108

Has anyone had any success losing weight with NV or anything similar? I need to drop like 50+ lbs by my wedding. I don't want to look huge in my dress.

Please share any tips. I know Trim Spa and all that is a quick fix, but just to get the ball rolling. I joined a gym 6 months ago and have been doing OK with it, but have hit a plateau. I can't stop eating! Help!

I've heard that 45 mins of cardio 4x a week is a must. I'm sure that's what she meant. Though celebs do like 3 hours a day I've read. I once read that Britney Spears was doing like 1000 sit ups a day w/her trainer. I can't imagine doing that much work. I can hardly stay on the treadmill for more than 25 mins :(

2 years ago i used to work out 2 hours a day, at that point its all mental you become so determined and as youre working out youre already doing it so you start thinking ahhhh 30 more mins and itll get me closer to my goal or its that extra pound for that week.

1000 sit ups yeah i heard she does that many well used to...that is great, i just get so bored if i am doing the same move for so long...The most i did was when i was real strict i ate a late night meal bc my friend asked me to please go out to dinner with her and although i got the healthiest on the menu it was still alot lol, so i got home that night at around 2am and did 400 crunches.

I really need to get back into this mind frame, hopefully when i hit my 6 mark soon i will

I needed to lose 50 and only lost 30... I worked out 5 days a week ~ Weight Watchers honestly is the best but you have to stick to it! Hubby and I are joining after we get back from our honeymoon! Good Luck Sweetie!

I dont think diet pills are the best idea. Good old fashioned eating healthy (and less calories) + exercise should do it. Of course, easier said than done!

I actually like eating healthy food but it's the exercise that's killing me because I am so lazy.

I found it helpful to get rid of any junk food you have laying around (I only eat it if its there, but dont really miss it if its not), and stock up on delicious healthy foods. I particularly love Trader Joes. Their turkey meatballs are amazing and healthy, and so are their chicken teriaki rice bowls. Buy lots of fruit and veggies and things you like and stock your fridge and pantry with it.

Also try to eat out less -- I am a picky eater and usually end up ordering something unhealthy if I am out.

As for exercise... it's hard. Maybe find a workout buddy or something you actually like doing? cant really help you there

I lost 90 pounds on WW about 15 years ago and have only gained about 10 back. It's lifestyle that ruins everything (OK, and genetics, too ). If exercise is too much, walking is a great alternative to no exercise. Increase your distance weekly as much as you can bear (well, half of what you can bear; you have to get back home, right? )

I know, WW is the only way to go :( I'm sure I will be joining again.

LA Weightloss is amazing too..... they both focus on portion control and just making great choices. You can totally do this! One of my best friends finished up about 6 months ago with LA Weightloss and looks absolutely AMAZING...and she's maintained her weight since... You can FM me if u'd like to see her before & after picture...i swear it's incredible. All the best! YOU GO GIRL!

You guys are all so sweet. Thanks for the motivation. I will try to get my big butt in gear. Trader Joe's is great, I love their grilled chicken. I buy it and sprinkle it on salad and their other stuff is great as well.

LA Weightloss. I should look into that, it's the one thing I haven't tried! WW is really the best overall. I just wanted one of you guys to say something like 'Trimspa really helped me get started.'

You guys are all a bunch of health nuts! Ha ha!

I recommend weight watchers, jenny craig or some program like that. They are more natural and help you eat porportioned. I lost 25 pounds in 3 months on WW and was able to keep it off. Diet pills might help you but once you get off them you can gain all the weight you lost back and then some. Plus they arent good for you either with all the side effects. I would go the WW way. Just my opinion.

I gave up red meat for 6 weeks and lost 25 pounds. I also cut all my portions and stopped drinking anything with sugar. I stuck with water all the time.

See thats odd because I thought planning a wedding was the best thing for weight loss.

Seriously, the closer you get to your date, the more weight that will just melt away without you even trying. Stress has a funny way of doing that...

If you wanna make a big difference now... cut out anything boxed or pre-packaged as this will make an insane difference... Lots of water (as sometimes you think you are hungry when you are just thirsty), and just start walking as much as you can as it will help you blow off some stress and naturally let your body settle to where it SHOULD be

good luck!
