Chubby Cheeks and today's appt- updated with some new info

I had my 5th sonogram today and the first thing the tech said is 'Your baby is beautiful. Look at those chubby cheeks'


My little one is progressing right on schedule. BUT the femoral (sp?) bone is 1.5 weeks ahead of everything else Scott's DNA is winning So Scott will either be calling UCONN for Women's Basketball or PITT for Boy's Basketball try-out dates in the year 2020

The baby's estimated weight is 6-6.5lbs, which is good and means that my GD is well under control.

Okay, the non-stress test nurse had to say 'Did you know your baby is breech at almost 37 weeks' And the u/s tech also said that to me. Both asked, 'So when is your scheduled section?: I said, 'Yes. I do know that the baby is breech but I still have time for the baby to turn.' I went to a meditation circle last night and had Reiki done (a healing art that is done to promote energy and balance). So I am trying every single thing known to Women to get this baby to turn.

I am not dialated or effacing at all- which is actually good news in this case. We, meaning ME, needs a little extra time for the baby's done timer to pop and the baby to turn.

UPDATE: The doctor said that a turn is not done on a mother with GD so for right now, that option is no longer an option. Of course, I have asked for other opinion but I am doubtful about it. I have 10 days for the baby to turn and then I would need to schedule 'other' stuff. So even though my leg hurts I am going for a walk. I read that it can help the baby turn....turn baby turn.....

Beautiful Michele!

You have a very strong willed baby there. Between when you were trying to see the gender on the U/S and now, staying put in his/her comfy position. This may be a personality trait you will see in you child in the future.

So was I butt first (no wonder it's HUGE )

they do a c-section now beacuse the doctors feel it is better for the baby. Patrick was breech & I had to have a c-section. I was broken hearted at first but, then I thought 'Whatever is best for the baby is what I'll do.' So, I didn't fight it!

update on prego photos: the high speed film always takes longer to get in so they should be ready any day now. I just e-mailed MK asking if I can pick them up this weekend (fingers are crossed)

vagina l breech births- in the US today there are very few v-breech births performed. My brother was also breech and my mother had a v-birth but she was put totally under. They turned my brother and my mom woke up with black and blues all over her legs- she had NO idea what had happened!
Most doctors and hospitals will not attempt a v-breech birth because there is A LOT of risks to the mother and the baby. A baby's shoulders can get stuck, the cord can compress and well...let's just say that is NOT a good thing. I did ask about it and was told that it is not allowed. Don't forget 20+ years ago c-sections were not as common as they are today and neither were sonograms. Often babies would turn a few days before delivery and the doctor wouldn't know until the baby was being delivered. And c-sections were not done nearly as often.
