Church

Does anyone know what the percentage of people attending the church is? I'm trying to figure out how many programs to make if we are having about 125 people at our wedding.

Our wedding is a Saturday and the church is at 4 and the cocktail hour starts at 7:30, so there will be about an hour or so gap in between. The RH is about 30 minutes away from the church

TIA

Well I think it depends on factors like, how far is it from your church to your hall? How much time is there in between? You are on a Saturday so you'll get more people at the church than say a Fri wedding when people have work. And you might also get people at your church who aren't coming to your reception.
I think you'd have enough if you make 100 programs.

it was FH's cousins wedding about 2 weeks ago now and pretty much EVERYONE who was at the RH made it to the church...the church was absolutely packed...

Wow, I don't expect everyone to come, but it's true you never know. Out church is at 4 and out cocktail hour starts at 7:30, so there will be about an hour or so gap in between. Also the RH is about 30 minutes away from the church.

Re: Church

Everyone who was at the reception was at the Church. In fact, some of my neighbors who weren't invited to the reception showed up for the mass too. We made 125 programs and had about 20 left over (total # of guests, including children, at the reception was 91). people will take extras b/c they make their own scrap book or keepsake ideas. So I would definitely have 1 per adult at the ready.

i tihnk it depends on a few factors:

timing (is it a Friday afternoon - - if so, that will bring down your numbers as people are still at work)

the time between the church and the reception . . . sometimes people will not go to the church is there are several hours between the church and the reception or if the distance is very far

your family and how they view church... i know this probably sounds weird, but i tihnk it a lot of it also depends on how 'religious: your family and friends are. in my family, everything was celebrated with Mass as part of the day. We go every Sunday and for every special ocassion, so clearly for my wedding, this would also be the case. out of 165 guests, i would say we had about 150 attend the Mass. i also had a few people from work that I just couldnt' afford to invite to the reception come to the Mass.

i made 125 programs and had way to many. i would say one per couple plus a few extra for you to have as a 'souvenir' is plenty. i also saved extras and gave to guests that weren't able to attend.

We had almost ALL of our guests show to the church and we had a 3 hour gap in between the ceremony and reception.

I dont think there is really a % or average that you can go by.

If nothing else make programs for 1/2 of your list~not everyone will take one nor do they need one

we had every single person come to the church....and actually more people that we didn't invite to the reception that just knew us (not close friends but people we went to elementary school with, old teachers, etc) so it was packed!

but with that being said, not everyone needs a program. i made enough for about 70 percent of guests, most couples share, and plus it saves paper
