Re: church
Barbs....did you check to see if your church has a website?
My church does and it give you details of what you need to do to book the church and all the details about how much it will cost and when are the times that are designated for weddings.
I know at my church you have sit with the priest first to decide your date. My priest had this big book with all the dates and times that were already booked.

Re: church
The way I did it was I put a hold on a date I wanted with the RH, called the church and once I had the okay from them, then I finalized things with the RH. Given the time crunch if you want a popular time of year you should probably pick the RH at the same time as the church to make sure both have availability for when you want.

I've been told that some churches get mad if you book the hall first. I don't know if you booked your hall yet, but if you did, you might not want to let them know! When I wanted to book my church, I called and asked if the date was available- they took down our name and then I went in with a deposit.
agreed i wouldn't aay i booked the hall first if u already did that.

I don't think it is bad to book the RH first, but the problem arises if your book the RH and your church is already booked for that date. Especially, if you have your heart on that church.
That is what happened to me and thank God i didn't book the RH first. I had wanted to do May 30th, the RH was available, but when I sat down with my priest, he said that the church was already booked. That put me in a whirlwind to find another date fast.
