I recently went to our church and they gave us papers with some rules and guidelines. One of them were that the bride and/or BMs can NOT where any tube top like dresses and if they do a shawl has to be worn over the shoulders!
My dress is definitely going to be a tube top and so were my BM's... I have no plans to wear a shawl or make my BM's wear one
Do all churches ask of this?

Re: Church ?????
The REALLY old-school traditional ones do. My church does not. Holy Name of Mary in Valley Stream if you're interested.

Re: Church ?????
We had to do this for a wedding in a Greek Orthodox church... We couldn't have bare neckline and shoulders. It wasn't too bad bc it was just a light little tulle (I think) wrap... I can't remember what the bride did bc she had a cathedral veil. I don't know if that would have counted as covering her up...
Are you attached to this church?

Re: Church ?????
09 crashing . No not all churches ask u this. That is an old school tradition. Its also considered a respect thing. If you dont want to honor it i suggest checking out other churches asap.

Re: Church ?????
No my church did not handout a list of guidelines or notify us of rules.... I say you look into another church! A bride should be able to look and feel the way she wants too...
