Church

My FH and I are getting married at CLM this time next year. We had originally just said we would get married there since he is from MI and the only church I ever belonged to is in Staten Island. Of course, me being a female, I am now thinking maybe I should be married in a church.

So my question is, are there any brides getting married in a church that they are not a member too and if yes, was it way more expensive than just hiring a minister and getting married at the RH?

And if anybody knows of church's near CLM that be great too. =)

THANKSSSS!

Re: Church

I know St. Rose of Lima in Massapequa (10 minutes from CLM) will marry people who are not from the parish. I believe they charge around $800.

Good luck!

Re: Church

There is also Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Lindenhurst, just north on Wellwood Ave so very close to CLM.

FH family belongs there, but I'm sorry I have no idea what their policies are about marrying non-parishioners.

Re: Church

We were in a similar situation. Up until the beginning of August, we had planned to get married at the RH. However, we then realized that that was not for us at all, and we changed to a church. It's maybe a couple of hundred more than having an officiant come to the RH. However, did not want to give up our officiant, as he is a really wonderful man. Therefore, we are paying for both the Church + the officiant.

Re: Church

Our Lady of Perpetual Help does not allow non-parish members to marry there. Hoping all works out with St. Rose of Lima!

Re: Church

I did not think churches will marry you if you are not a part of their parish. You should check out OLPH (Our Lady of Perpetual Hope) in Lindenhurst (I think it is lindenhurst..not sure...maybe west babylon).

Edit...sorry...I did not read to the bottom.
