Church

FH and I are going to meet with the Priest tomorrow morning. I don't have an exact date yet (just a certian time of year) am I supposed to have the date for him already? I'm hoping he will just tell us what dates he has open and maybe discuss pre-cana. Help

I'm sure you can just tell him the time of year and it will be a good chance for you to see what they have open. Once you know what dates are available you can start looking for reception halls for those dates. I booked by RH first, then just prayed that my church would be available. Luckily it was!

I booked the RH first bc we originally were going to have the ceremony there but then changed our minds to get married at the church & just prayed it wasn't taken but slim chance it was lol.. usually there's a few times during the whole day to choose from. But I think as long as you know a time of year then that should work fine!

I was SO nervous when we had to meet with the priest about our wedding date! We booked our RH, we're living together & have a baby already & I had my sister down my neck saying when she went to our church (10years ago tho) that they said she would have to pay an extra few for living in sin.. which didn't happen for us. Times have changed so they weren't strict at all. But the part that scared me the most was them calling it an investigation LOL!!

I booked the RH first and then hoped that the parish I grew up in had the date open. I'm a firm believer in everything happens for a reason! Take is as it comes girl :)

it's better not to have a specific date. because then he will know that you are booking the church first and that the church is your first priority. They like that!
