I just got my paper work from St Ann's in Sayville and it has the price on the paperwork: donation to church $750 priest $350 organist $200 janitor (yes, i said janitor!) $100
It didn't say 'suggested donation' or anything!!!
Thats over a grand just for the ceremony! Are all churches like this?????

Mine is $425 for church, organist, alter servers, and clean-up, and $75 for pre-cana.

Holy Cow!! That seems like alot to me. We got quoted 500.00 for the church and the organist is included. And whats with the Janitor charge???? I have never heard of that!!!

Ours is $725 for the church, organist, and cantor. Pre cana was another $90.

Janitor charge is cleanup fees. Remember, people coming in from outside will track in leaves, dirt, etc. They need to clean the church after you use it. This is included in my overall church fee.

Same here! Its so much $$$$$$. I asked them for a receipt since its not a donation a charge b/c they say how much you are to 'Donate'. I actually almost got into a fight with the priest b/c its so crazy. They wouldn't give me one so I wrote checks (when they said cash only) and wrote church donation on all of them. That way I was able to say on my taxes I made a $1,500 donation to the church.

I was baptized at St. Anns!
Mine is $400. This doesn't include musicians (we have friends playing for us) or precana, we decided to do a weekend upstate which is about $300.

My church offfering is $500. Music director is $125 and if you want a cantor it is $100. Also, they recommend tips to the ushers.
