Church decorating dilema

Church decorating dilema

Hi Gals,

My ceremony is at my church at 5pm on a friday night. There will most likely be a wedding before mine at 4pm. I was going to take the 4pm spot so i would have the time to decorate the church for my wedding, but FH said it would be better to have the 5pm so guests won't have as much time to wait till the cocktail hour which starts at 8pm.
I really want to be able to decorate the church for my wedding- nothing crazy just some small arangements and some pew bows but i don't know how i'm gonna be able to do this.
Do i try to meet with the 4pm bride and work out something with her and perhaps share the cost of decorations???
Has anyone ever heard of this??

I would talk to the church and see if they have any suggestions. I'm surprised they would have two ceremonies so close together. There needs to be some time to transition between the two.

How long is the ceremony for?

you would think they would allow more time in between especially if the 1st one has a full mass then they are gonna get rushed out so my wedding can start on time. I'm only doing a ceremony so it should only be 20 mins i guess.

That's not a lot of time they're allowing between ceremonies. I believe my florist is running in and setting up the decorations - all I got was pew bows. You could also have everything all set up and have your ushers do it - they tie on in no time at all.

I guess you can speak to the other bride and see what you two can work out. Times are hard so maybe she would be willing to split the costs. You guys are having different guests so it should be ok. Good luck!

People have done this before. Definitely try to contact her! Who WOULDN'T want to split the cost of decorations?

That is a short time for 2 ceremonies!
