Church dilemma

Church dilemma

FH's dad is a pastor and is doing our ceremony. Their church was supposed to be under construction so he made arrangements to have the ceremony at another church nearby.

We were told the ceremony has to be at 2:30 (which stresses me out because I feel like we are going to be rushed for pics and are going to miss our CH)

Turns out his church is not going to be under construction and we could have the ceremony there. Here's the problem, invites have already been sent out with the other churches info.

Part of me wants to switch churches bc it'll be more meaningful to FH and his fam and I could do the ceremony whatever time I want and not have to stress about timing.

FIL's have said that they would pay to have 'HER' make little cards to match our invites just mentioning the change in the church and timing and they they would mail them out for me so I don't have to stress about it. I don't know if that will mix things up and confuse ppl, what if ppl don't get them or something.

What would you girls do, keep it the way it is, or switch to make FH and FIL happy and not stress about timing and mail out change of info cards?

If you read all this, thank you! <3

Does your invite say 2:30?

Yes, it says 2:30, so the new cards would have church change and time change. This is why I don't know if it'll be too confusing.

I'd do it.. Change it. People will figure it out.

Change it! The cards will be sufficient enough to let everyone know about the change!

What was the time line? We are doing a 2:30 church mass and then a 6:30 cocktail hour. I would be weary of sending a change of church card. People arent that brilliant at times and you dont want people going to the wrong place. Just a personl thing.

Church right now is 2:30 and CH is 6:00.

This is what I am afraid of.

But if we change churches, it will mean a lot to FH and I will get to do the mass at 2:00, which means I won't be stressing time as much. This is why I am so torn!

I understand that people are stupid and they may get confused! But.....I am looking at this as a FIL issue! I would change to their church. It's not just FH's childhood church, it's his dad's church that he is the pastor of. Without question, change the church!!! Unfortunately a lot of people don't even go to the church, so you should be safe with changing the time and place! It's a sentimental thing! DO IT!!!

Oh, and if they are willing to buy the change of time/church cards and mail them, then they obviously really want you to change it!!!

You are SO right, thank you so much. I think I am going to change it- it will make everyone happy. And people need to not be so stupid!

How far apart are the two churches? If they're close, I'd definitely do it... then you could put a sign (or person) at the other church to direct any confused people too the right place.

Send the change of place/time cards and, if you're really worried, also tell people by phone/email/facebook/whatever. It'll work out!

The churches are only like 6 blocks apart. Our familiy are both going to also spread the word for anyone who doesn't pay attention to the card.

Thanks!

I'm so happy you decided to change it!!! It's going to mean so much more, not only to FH and his family but also for you! Trust me you have made the correct decision!
