How do we get the baptism, communion and confirmation certificates? The Deacon told us theyy have to be printed within 6 months of the wedding.... i cant trust FH's parents so were gonna have to do this ourselves... not sure where to start... all my sacraments were in the same church... his were in 3 different ones

Re: Church Documents
Give the church's a call and let them know what you need. they will tell you when to come and pick them up. I did that with my church and they had them ready for me.

Re: Church Documents
if you arent getting married in the same church as you made all your sacraments I know I had to do this was write a letter to the church with a self addressed stamped envelope and they will mail you the documents.

Re: Church Documents
call the church rectory of the church where the baptisms happened. the church of baptism is the 'keeper of records.' so, asumming the other churches followed protocol, they should have sent the paperwork to the original church
this is what the priest told us. unfortunately, my other churches (for communion and confirmation) did not follow protocol. but baptism is the most important certificate anyway. so the church said it was ok. otherwise id need to track down the other stuff.

Re: Church Documents
My church only required the bapitismal cerfiticate, so I called the church for FH and then just sent it to my church.

Re: Church Documents
My church required baptismal certificates. I just called my parish church and they had it ready for me to pick up by the end of the day.

Re: Church Documents
I was told to contact the church where I was baptized. because they keep the originals. I called them a few months ago, they told me to call back.
You should try the church he was baptized at first, ask if they have all the records or if you have to contact the others as well. no reason to call around when you could get it all in one shot.

Re: Church Documents
I called the church where I was baptized and they had the docs (not the same church where I received my confirmation). They FAXED me a copy of my Baptism Certificate and later mailed me an official copy with the raised seal.
