Church Donation

Hi Ladies,

I was wondering if you can please help me.

Would you mind telling me what your Church 'donation' fee is as well as your Music fee?

I am thinking that ours may be very high but I may be wrong. We are getting married in a Melville, NY

TIA :)

Ours is $600 (not including pre cana, that was $125)
Music Director is $135 and Cantor is $125.

It seems a bit high to me. Even if we go with someone else to play or sing we still have to pay the fee.

$500 including the church organist whether or not we used them... which we did.

ETA: Pre-cana was an additional $200 but we didn't have to do it at the church we got married in.

now i dont feel as bad... ours is still the most expensive... but when i see others saying $500-$650 i feel like we got screwed.

then i have you beat! because we weanted to add a trumpeter and that is not included, to stand outside the church to introduce us and then herald our departure afterwards. he's another $150

i see your trumpeter and raise you a bag piper or two, possibly a snare and bass drum... i think we're looking at about $300 (which is an amazing rate, considering they're all friends) but i'm not sure if thats a definite... but its been discussed.

$400 Mandatory Donation
$250 Music
They also ask if you can leave the floral arrangements

Total: $700.00 ... What i originally estimated $250..

Does anyone else think you should just give what you can especially since most couples now pay for the whole wedding on their own, with little or no help at all.

Or am i just being really cheap

750 for the church and 250 for music and we are bringing in our own priest and singer. . . .

OMG! we wanted 2 trumpeters so we were like maybe they will give a discount since we are getting two and they were trying to charge us $375 for both! we couldn't unddrstand how it came out to that much money! such a rip off!
