Hi guys. Does anyone know about how much church donations cost for weddings? Our church is asking for $700!! I think that's wayy too much money, but I would like to hear from the rest of you guys. We are meeting with the priest tomorrow.

Mine is about that and that includes pre cana. I was thinking that really sucks but I spoke to a friend doing the ceremony at her venue and it's tinning her over $1200

My church is $940, then $300 deposits (late fee and clean up) which we will most likely receive back, donation to the priest and then pre Cana. It's going to be $1,500ish for everything.

My church is a total of $1050 with precana and FOCUS. And it goes up every September.. So although we booked our date 2.5 years in advance, were not allowed to pay until the month before our wedding. It's ridiculous but it is what it is if I want to get married in my childhood church.

I totally agree. We really do love our church as well & I can't see myself walking down any other aisle. It's just beautiful. I guess at the end its all really worth it :)

Yep, it is $700 for the church too and we are long time parishioners. My parents give them a nice chunk of change every year for parish dues so at first my parents were like what?! at the number. We'll see.

Ours is $750 for the church and $300 for pre cana. And it's not a 'donation' at my church, its a contracted fee. It's outrageous.

I think no matter where you get married, it costs. And actually $700 is on the cheaper side! It's $995++ for us to get married at our venue.

This is what it says under the Fees section for my church:

For members in good standing who are already recorded as financially supporting this parish church, there are no usage fees. (Although my mom is in AMAZING standing us ehhhh not so much)
If you are not a pledging member or a 'giver of record' there will be a $500 fee.

Then it lists the fee for the organist $200, set up of altar $50 and Clergy $250

Oh wow...I feel better about mine...My church is $625 and another $350 for Pre Cana and FOCCUS through the diocese.

my church is 1200 but because i am an alumni of their school we are paying $725 :)

Wow. My church was asking for cheap! They wanted $150 for the organist and then $50 each for the usher and janitor. So...total of $250. And I was going to give the pastor a $200 donation.
