Church EMERGENCY HELP!!!!

I can't believe it but the church we had booked renovated and it looks terrible! I was there today and left cring. I won't even get into what they did bc if anyone else is using them and likes it I don't want to offend.

Anyway it was a Lutheran Church as I am Lutheran. FH is Catholic so we are in search of another church near JT (basically within a 15 minute drive or so)

So here is my MOST important question!! Can I a confirmed Lutheran get married in a Catholic church without having to convert. I would be more than happy to get married in one as long as I don't have to give up my religion.

Anyone with info please help!!

i hope u find a church soon!!! if not, dont worry.. btwn ur sexiiinesss in a wedding gown and pew bows and church flowers... ur pix r still guna be gorgeous!

Yup I was baptized made my communion and confirmation. All in a Lutheran church though. They are VERY similar to Catholic I should add if anyone didn't know.

you are fine that - I think as long as you are baptized they dont' care

FH isn't catholic and we have no problem

I am getting married at St. Boniface

you can also try St. Catherine, St. Vincents, OUr Lady of victory all very close to JT

Yes! You can get married in a Catholic church, I am Catholic and FH is confirmed Episcopalian and we are allowed, as long as you are baptized and confirmed. That was the rule for my church at least.

That is what FH is - he was batized and made his communion he wasn't confirmed - it really depends on the church but all mine is asking for is his batisimal cert.

pretty sure u can get married at corpus christi (which is like 3 feet from jericho terrace)

i was in precana there with a couple where the groom was lutheran and the bride catholic.

OK this is going to be the TACKIEST question ever so forgive me as I dont know since I am not Catholic. How much does it usually cost (donation) to have a wedding in a Catholic church?

Ok...first, YES you can get married in a Catholic church. Mike is Episcopal and we're getting married in a Catholic church. As long as you have proof your and Matt's baptisms and confirmations you're fine.

Now......as for Catholic churches in the general close to JT:

Blessed Sacrament - Valley Stream
Our Lady of Peace - Lynbrook
St. Raymond's - East Rockaway
St. Agnes - Rockville Centre
St. Christopher's - Baldwin

and of course, Holy Name of Mary - Valley Stream (this is where I'm getting married, pics in my album )
