Church Girls

Anyone else having the worst time with the church stuff??

They require you to take pre-cana but make it so difficult to even get a class scheduled. Its really annoying!

Re: Church Girls

remember my drama? my priest basically said FH couldn't get married in the church b/c he never had communion or confirmation, but meanwhile same priest married a friend over the summer that had teh same thing....so i called the diocese and now we're getting married at the church!!!

Try calling local parishs and asking when their pre-cana is. I think St. Isadore's might have one in June. Just call the rectory and ask when there pre-cana classes are.

I called a parish closer to home and the deacon was less than helpful. He said that he'd never heard of people taking pre-cana there that are getting married at a different church but he'd call me back.

St. Isidores cant get their head out of their behinds. Everytime I call there its one excuse or another...'we are busy right now call us back' 'we have a fundraiser going on, call us back' 'the person is on vacation call us back'
Its so annoying!!

Ah, we just bit the bullet since I had a hard time finding weekend ones. I guess I should have looked harder.

We dropped the $300 and are taking it the last weekend in January I think at our Lady of Mt Carmel in Patchogue

But by going through the Diocese website, I never actually had to interact with anyone
Just registered online and it was done!

Re: Church Girls

yeah the only classes we were able to get right now are in the city every Tuesday night in Jan. We got for our second class tomorrow. I know some girls say they enjoyed pre-cana and learned a lot but honestly, FH and I were bored out of our minds the first class LOL. I wish we had the priest that married my brother - he said he didn't feel pre-cana is necessary and extempted them from having to take it ... jerks LOL
