FH and I are going to meet with our church for the first time and I'm sooo nervous! I'm afraid they're going to yell at me for not making my confirmation.
Do they ask you how often you go to church? What am I supposed to say if the real answer is ummm once a year???
This is all FH's fault, I would have been fine getting married at the RH. Churches scare me.
ETA: The bad: *We got there on time and there was no one in the office. We waited... and waited... and waited. Finally half an hour later the priest and 2 other guys showed up just as we were about to leave! *We were in a tiny box of a room with no AC, fan or windows. FH was sweating like a beast and had to keep wiping the sweat off his face, haha.
The good: *I don't HAVE to make my confirmation if I don't want to. It's 'recommended' but not required. *He said,'I'm not going to ask you if you go to church. I know the answer, no one your age goes to church.' hahahah *Precana is only 2 two hour classes. I thought it would be much longer. *No really horrible questions, the worst one was something about vaginal sex.
But the priest seems nice and really laid back so that's good. Oh and he said 'Sh1t happens' about something which FH and I cracked up about after we left. I've never heard a priest curse. So it was definitely not as bad or as strict as I thought it was going to be (should have listened to you girls.)

Our first meeting with the priest was pretty much basic paperwork... names, addresses, parents names, parents religion, etc. and a few questions for FH and I but we were in the same room at all times. You'll be fine!
YAY! At least it went well....but hearing the word vaginal in church...i dont kno....

I couldn't believe you guys were still there when we arrived!!!!!!!
when they said that the 'first couple' was still here we freaked! then i saw your FH's head as you guys were leaving... we just kept saying to each other 'two hours?!?!?!'. we thought it was going to take about 20 minutes.
it wasn't as scary as i thought it was going to be. we did get in a little bit of trouble for living together, but we expected that.
he said we were a 'good case' though since i made all of my sacraments at st. gerts and my FH made all of his at the same place and went to catholic school.
i was the same way as you too, i wanted to do the RH hall wedding, but FH pushed for the church. now i'm kinda glad that we got his way.

Haha I know… OMG wasn’t it a million degrees in there? I’m usually fine with the heat and I thought I was going to diiiiie.
Luckily he finally showed up at 8 – we were in the car getting ready to leave bc we thought he forgot about us (I think he did forget actually, he didn’t even apologize for being late.)
Yeah I’m not a good case… I never made my confirmation AND my parents are divorced so I’m going to hell. Haha he was very nice about it though.
