Church prices?

I know some churches say there is a mandatory fee/donation fee, and some say there is just a donation...how much is this fee typically? FSIL & FBIL paid a mandatory fee of about $700? Is that normal? What is everyone else paying?

I am waiting to meet with my priest so I wasn't told yet.

I think mine's like $500 too. But its not that bad - you'd end up paying for the RH if you got married there. Plus the church has to keep up on maintenance and pay salaries. I think in the grand scheme of things - the church is a bargain!

Our church is $700 and that is only because FH is a member of the church. If it was an outsider it is over $1000.

Thanks ladies for all of the reponses! I will let you know what mine is as soon as I am able to speak with the priest! He is so hard to get in touch with!

I was worried because I heard my church was really cheap... like around $200, but my father heard differently, so I am hoping I heard right!!!
