By the time your ceremony and receiving line are done it will probably be somewhere around 3, 3:15. You need time to take photos anyway. Don't worry about it, I've been to many a wedding where I had to kill time in between, this is so not a problem.

See if your hall will open CH a little early or set up a hospitality receptionf or guests who arrive early. It'll be fine, promise!!

Awww Michelle! don't think thay way I think it the ceremony is at 2pm wouldn't bad at all 'cause it'll give u more time for pics, or how about using another church? Our CH/Reception starts ar 8:30pm on a Friday and the ceremony is at 5pm we did it like this so it'd give us enough time for pics 'cause we wanna have them taken in Old Westbury Garden.

I think you just have to ask yourself a question...Who do you NEED at your ceremony? If you are like me then the only people you NEED at the ceremony are super close friends and family. Those people will for sure take off and be at the wedding ceremony. So if other people only come to the reception no big deal!!!

we really love this church, we also wanna take pics at OWG, but i feel like 5 hours in between is too long. I'm going to ask the douglaston manor if they can extend the ch from 6:30 -8:00.

Seeeee I told you not to worry!

I dont think 3 1/2 hours in between is a long time....were gonna take pics during that time anyway so everyone else will just have to find something to do in the mean time!

Everything will be fine!

Did the priest ever call you back? and what did DM say?

IT'S NOT 5 HOURS IN BETWEEN!!! When will th ceremony and receiving line end?? Like I said, it's going to be like 3pm, so that's 4 hours and that's not unreasonable. In fact, I wish we had more time in between cause I'm afraid we're not going to have enough time for all the photos we want to take before and at the RH.

Like the other ladies, I think this will work to your advantage. I purposely made my ceremony for 1pm, and reception at 6. You and FH will want to spend a few minutes alone just enjoying the moment, and now you will have time to do that.

Our church is at 3:30 and our cocktail hour starts at 7. So many weddings have gaps, you will be fine!

Honestly you WANT it that way! By the time you have your mass and take photos then get to your venue it will be later than you think. Then you will want to take pictures at your venue as well or anywhere else. Think about how your hubby could see you for the FIRST time as you walk down the aisle! What a magical moment. I would say book it at 2. You'll see its so much better!
