Church programs

Are they a must? I'm thinking of not doing them...

I have never been to a wedding with them and didn't even know people did them until I got on this site. So I decided they aren't necessary.

I'm not having them, though I'm getting married at the venue. Are you having a full mass?? If not, they're definitely not necessary.

I personally like them as a guest at a wedding so Yes, I will be doing them :)

I'm doing them. As a guest, I like to look at them and see what is going on (especially if you are having a full mass).

I'll probably do something LIKE a wedding program... like 'so you're gonna sit through a wedding...' type thing. We're getting married at our venue.

If you're getting married at a church, many of them will do them for you. My church offered but i didn't like the look so im doing them....mostly to tell people not to take cell pictures and post them to fb right away hahah

This is actually a good idea. I don't want a million pictures of me on FB as I'm reciting my vows to FH. It's so impersonal.

they are not a must. they will end up in the garbage. i never look for a wedding program. it's a personal choice but no one should make a big hoopla over it.

It's funny you say that because I've never been to a wedding with out them! LOL.

Personally, I enjoy reading through the program, so I am going to do them.

I'm definitely doing them for our church ceremony!

Like NatalieRose, I like reading them at other people's weddings. So, I'm doing it too. It lets the guests follow the ceremony and introduces the cast of 'characters'.

No. I'd say about half the weddings I go to have them and when I get home with the program I'm like 'Uh...I guess I'm throwing this away?'.

Personally, I'm not doing them because I rather use that money and my time on other things. But if you have the $ or have time and want to DIY then go for it!

At my church they actually ask people before mass to turn off their cell phones, which is so sad they actually have to do that. But to anyone wanting to save some money, maybe have an announcement to shut cellphones and refrain from posting pictures to the internet.
