Re: church programs ASAP

I'm getting married ina few months from now and will definetely be having programs at my wedding. I disagree about 'skipping them' from your ceremony. I think having the programs makes the ceremony a little more unique. It's a nice touch for your guests. It gives them something to follow along with. The guests will know who is in your bridal party, what songs you chose, even who you wanted to thank for helping to make your day special. I also like that you can acknowledge your loved ones who passed away. That's very important to me because my grandfather just died and I was hoping he'd be here physically to watch me get married, but now I know I can honor him and still have him be included in my big day by including him in the program. It could also be used as a nice memento of your big day. God knows the day is going to fly by!! And besides, 10-years from now I think it'll be really nice to see in writing the names, readings, and other special things that helped make my day so special.

I think it is okay not to have programs but I also think the programs are nice to have, for a variety of reasons. But if you are under the gun and have other important things to take care of you can skip them without guilt.

Re: church programs ASAP

I agree with WebBabe. I just attended my first Jewish wedding in June (I am Catholic) and had it not been for the wedding program, I wouldn't have known what was going on! It made the ceremony more enjoyable. I've also found wedding programs appreciated at weddings where both sides are the same religion - it gives you something to look at while you are waiting for the ceremony to begin and let's you know the course of events. When I get married, I am going to have a wedding program made which include pictures of the entire wedding party - with their names and how they were related to us. That way everyone will know who they are looking at.
