church question

I posted this on BHB also. How can u find out available wedding dates at the church? Is it only with the priest, or can anyone at the church tell u?

I would call the church. Has anyone else heard that the Catholic chruch won't marry you during lent???? Me and FH would like to set the date for Feb 24, 2007, but that is 3 days after lent begins.

i've never heard that...i'm getting married feb. 15th 2008...good thing you posted this...i have to start bothering my church a little more...i've called them twice already to try and come in to talk about reserving my date but they never get back to me..its frustrating

I called the church, but they wont give me availability over the phone. They gave me an appt with the Priest and he goes over everything with you.

I never heard anything about Lent. Why dont you ask another Catholic Church???

I had to go down and meet with the priest with my FH for them to talk to me about the wedding. I am getting married the Friday before Palm Sunday (during lent) and there are no problems with the church. The priest even said he gives a separate prayer so the guests are able to eat meat since its a religious ceramony.l
