Church Question

Who is setting up your church decorations?

I know most brides have the florist come in and set the flowers up.

But I just wanted to have fake flowers at the altar (no one can tell anyway they are so far away), and have pew bows and white tool fabric draping from the pews. Who should I ask to setup the pew bows and draping fabric? We are getting married at 3pm after church mass, so the pastor said we can setup after 1pm. But who can I have setup this stuff, since the bridal party and guests will be getting ready for the wedding? Is anyone having the same problem or do they have any suggestions? Thank you.

Re: Church Question

Our florist is going to do the set up for us. We wanted to do it ourselves and just do pew bows, but we ran into the same problem. Does the church have a wedding coordinator that might be able to do that for you? Or do you have a friend who might be able to help out?

Yeah I might have to go the friend root..Not sure yet..I wanted to see what you girls could suggest. I might go with the florist but wanted to see if I could do it that way instead. Thanks for the advice though..

Re: Church Question

I would say friends. Close, dependable friends that are not in your bridal party. I was thinking the same thing today because I don't wan't to spend that much on flowers & yes, the fake ones look good and no one would know.

In my mind I have designated VIE's (Very Important Extras) for those tasks that cannot be covered by bridesmaid or family. I plan on inviting my VIE's to the Rehearsal dinner.

Re: Church Question

i know at my church we have a wedding coordinator that will do just that....check with the church and see if they provide one . its included in the cost of the church with mine. if not definitely get a close friend to set up prior to the mass...

good luck

Re: Church Question

Yep. I am in a similiar boat. I am getting married at a reception hall outside at 3pm..but the place doesnt open until 10am and its about an hour and a half drive for me to get up there..so its like will that be enough time to decorate the arch..aisle..the reception hall etc...but like one of the brides said above about having trusted friends do it...well that is probably what Im going to be doing..if not my plan B would be to stay over in a hotel get there 10 on the dot and start working my butt off
