Church Question

Church Question

Does anyone have a wedding scheduled right after them? We are getting married at 3 and there is another wedding at 4:30. FH is still undecided on whether or not he would like a full mass. I also don't know how to decide on flowers. I feel that the other bride will be having her florist come in while we are still there to set up. Are the weddings scheduled too close?

Re: Church Question

You could contact the other bride and see if you guys want to share the cost of flowers and use them for both weddings?

My wedding is at 3PM, but there could be another wedding at 1:30 and one at 12PM. I guess an hour and a half is typical time between weddings!

That's a good idea to contact the other bride about the flowers. I hope the church doesn't mind me asking for her number.

Re: Church Question

Our church has the same schedule...We are the only wedding booked for our date so far so we had the choice between 3 or 4:30. We chose 3:00 but there is a chance that another wedding will be at 4:30 after us.

Right now we are planning to have a full mass but we could change it....either way, it should be fine! I just want to make sure that we don't get started late (or too late anyway)

My cousin had two weddings in a day. She was the first as well. She got the other bride's number from the churh but the other girl wasn't interested. Not sure why though...

Re: Church Question

It will help with the cost on both our ends.

Re: Church Question

i used to work in a church and they would schedule weddings every hour....of course they based that on each wedding lasting 45 minutes and everyone being on time

Re: Church Question

If you are concerned about the time I suggest you call the church office and express your concerns they should be willing to work with you. If the church office is not speak with the priest who is marrying you directly.

I was scheduled for an 11am mass and my cocktail hour is at 1. I realized there was no way that would work. I spoke with the church office and they said I could not move it forward b/c they keep that time open for funerals. No offense but I am alive and I would like 10:30. I called back a couple of months later and spoke with the priest and he said it would be no problem.

So if you are worried about the time between you and the other wedding see if you can move your forwards.
