Does anyone know of any churches that would allow my father to perform the ceremony?
I live in the city, and the church I belong to is in Manhattan. We are having the reception in Hauppague, so I can't get maried at my church. I am not familiar with any churches on LI, so any suggestions would be great.

The Wyndham puts on a nice affair - you will love it! I'm actually getting married right next door at the Hamlet!
Unless your father is clergy, I don't think any church will allow him to perform the ceremony. I think you can do a google search on churches in the area and make a few phone calls. (Sorry, I'm not familiar with any churches in the area - or else I'd give you some #'s.)

He is a clergyman, so that should not be a problem.
Bay Shore, Islip, Smithtown, Nesconset - are all towns near Hauppauge.

Most churches allow this if the person is a cleryperson in good standing with the religious group with which he is associated.

most churchs allow an outside clergyman.. thats what were using FFIL's cousin... they told that he has to write the pastor? of the church asking to do it...
