Church question (dumb)

FH and I plan on just a ceremony. Is there usually an alter boy/girl for just a ceremony? Only asking because I just read the tipping thread below.

We didn't have one for ours. My friend had 2 and she just had a ceremony. So I would ask because obviously every church is different.
