church question(s)

church question(s)

Does the limo company really take care of all of this stuff?
* Taking the memory/unity candle after the mass is over, taking the pew bows down, taking the alter flowers to RH (if allowed)

If not who does it?

Aside from Prayer of the faithful, what other 2 readings are done my family members.

Do alter servers have to be at the rehersal also?

TIA

not sure about alterservers, but i dont think it would be your responsibility to get them there or invite them to the rd after...

i dont know about the other stuff cause the last wedding i was in wasnt at a church, and the one before that there was no decorations at the church...

ETA:... i dont know about the readings either... i didnt realize some where for family or non family!

Re: church question(s)

My DOC is doing all of the taking down of decorations and bringing them to the RH. I would assume that the limo drivers would do this if you asked...but I haven't booked limos yet so I'm not 100% sure!

There are two readings before the gospel that you would have to select readers for.

I have seen it both ways w/ altar servers, I think it's more up to the church than you. I'm thinking they'd be there if it was their first wedding or something.

HTH!

Altar servers do not have to be at the rehearsal.

As far as I know, the limo company just does this aisle runner. You could call your limo company directly, but I'd probably ask an usher or other trusted family member to remove anything from the church, just in case.

I'm not sure about the limo company and decorations. I will have to ask this!

But, you PICK the two readings. It's usually one from the Old Testament, and one from the New. My church gave us some ones that are good to read for weddings, but we get to pick.

no the alter servers do not go to the rehearsal, unless the priest or Church tells them that they have to. this has nothing to do with you.

ask your limo company what they take care of. my limo company specifically told me that they will supply to aisle runner for my Church. that's all.

I am not sure about taking down the decorations so I just asked my aunt to make sure she grabs the stuff I want back.

Alter servers were a recommended attendant at the rehearsal as well. HTH!

The alter servers are my cousins who are alter servers with another parish. So it's a little different.

In that case, bring 'em along. I was an altar server for years and served many weddings, but never attended the rehearsal. But they're family so it's different.

ETA: And their parish might do things a little differently so it'll be good for them to go!
