church rehearsal time????

My church is giving me a time of 7:00. Isnt that a little late for Rehearsal. We want to plan the dinner after but thats a little late for a thursday. Do any of you church brindes have a similar situation? She told me 7 or 7:30!! I understand people work and all of that but I feel its a little late..

Opinions?

Mine is also at 7:00. I dont think its too late at all. And most of our bridal party works in the city. So by the time they get home form work, its like 6:30 anyway.

Most church rehearsals are at 7pm because people do work, and you need everyone there (in theory) so they know what they are doing. If everyone gets there on time, you should be done and out by 7:30pm, which is not too late for dinner.

Also, most churches have volunteer couples who do the rehearsal since sometimes the priests are too busy.

That is a little late. We were offered the same time at our church. We told them that was late because we were going to dinner after. So we bumped it up to 6. Hopefully, people that have to work will be able to get off early. I spoke to most of them and they said they will have no problem leaving work a bit earlt. We didn't want to eat at 8 at night on a thursday, when people have to get up for work the next day.

ours is at 7pm too. i think it is good for people who are working. that way they don't have to leave work early and it isn't an inconvience for them. it does pose a problem for dinner, but i think it should be okay.

I just went to one at 7! It worked perfect! Because honestly any earlier and people would have had to take a half day or not been able to come!

I think most places are 7 (all the ones I went to started at that time). You're at the restaurant by 8 and usually home by 11, which isn't that late to go to work the next day

That's the same time of my rehearsal and I am ok with it. Everyone has to work and I do not want anyone to have to take off of work to do it. you can still have the dinner. Most people hang out later than anticipated because veryone is excited so don't worry it will be fine.

I was actually given a choice (which shocked me) so I signed up for 5:00 (on a Friday). I'm hoping nobody minds that - most of my wedding party will be up in NY already or flying in the day before the wedding.

ok i feel better. I just thought it would start a little bit earlier like 6:30. that half hour would make a difference since we are having a dinner right after. I would never expect anyone to take off and I know people work and the rehearsal couple has a life. I knew it wasnt that early. The wedding I was always in had a rehearsal time of 6:30. thanks for the posts ladies!

I still have yet to speak to the priest who is marrying us. We were actually going to try and do the rehearsal on the saturday before our wedding. Just because some of our family lives at least 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours from Manhattan, so we did not want to do it on a week night and then everyone would have to come from work andthen get home late and be absolutely exhausted. But we realized that the saturday before is Valentines Day and restaurants will probably be very crowded. So we were going to book a restaurant now!! But i am trying to change it for Sunday instead if we can.. I have to give the priest a call.
