I asked FH to call the priest to confirm dates/times, etc... and the priest happened to tell him that we've basically been bumped for the Rehearsal Dinner because there's an emergency mass that needs to take place Friday night.
The thing that pisses me off is that we were promised a date (mind you, the RD invites went out already!), and now have to change our plans. So I'm concerned... if another 'emergency' happens for Saturday, does that mean that we won't get married?
ARGHHHHHHHHHHH!

Oh no! That's not right at all. I'm sure they won't change the date of your wedding but it still wasn't right of them to BUMP you!

I don't think that it's right that we've got bumped. I mean, I can kinda of understand if someone died, and a mass is taking place for the recently deceased, but the Rehearsal is NEXT FRIDAY (9/17). They should work around US, not push us aside for a different date/time.
Flaca, yes, invites went out already stating everything will be done Friday. FH told the priest that, and he stood firm on the change.
Hbradio, no the RD is next Friday. What could be such an emergency a week later?????

Okay if it was this weekend I would understand. Since its not....I dont. There is no such this as a 'scheduled emergency' for next week!!!! I would march myself in there and explain that invites are out, there are OOT people, etc. That is not right!!!! I am so sorry!

I would outright ask them what the emergency is....and stress your concern about an emergency happening the next day.....

FH spoke to the priest... and FH said that he said changed the date because a mass needed to be done for the person who paid $500, and that if we wanted to arrange something, we could work things out. As I start blowing a hole through the phone, FH starts laughing, and says he was joking, and the priest made a mistake & apologized.
I cursed him out, and hung up on him... I'm glad he has a sense of humor about this... f'ken bastrd got me! hahahaha

What is an 'EMERGENCY' mass ?? An emergency is a heart attack, a car accident, hospitals have emergencies ! - How do you have a 'planned' emergency mass ??? UGH ! Every single time I have to deal w/ the church I become more and more jaded !
