Church Time for an 8:30 Cocktail Hr

Ok so I have no choice but to have an 8:30 Cocktail hour start at Russos, now the problem is when to have the church I have a choice of 4:00 or 5:30. I am not having a full mass, so it will ony be about a hlf hr!! I am leaning towards 5:30 bc it is more convenient for my guests but then I have to do pictures before then as I am getting married October 2nd and it gets dark at 6:30. Help Im so confused!!!

I knowits more convenint for your guests but u do need pic time. I was goingto sugest 430pm anyway i would to the 4 by the time its all done & everyone is gone its about 5/515 pm. So three hours isnt that bad. And its better for you!

I went to a wedding where the cocktail hour started at 8pm and they had their church ceremony at 3pm, so do what is best for you. Your guests will figure out something to do.

if you are having a RC church wedding, start the mass as soon as you can. They are anywhere from 2-3 hrs and that means that you will arrive at the RH at like 7-8 already, which leaves no pic time. I would think about that before you choose a time.

I would go with the earlier start time. I know closer to the cocktail hour is more convenient for your guest but you need to alott time for pictures and travel.

I feel you, I'm doing 4:00 church(ceremony) and my CH starts at 8.30 too......

When we went to see a photo. he checked and said 6:15 was the sunset for 10/16/09.....maybe that helps???

I'm in the same boat too!!!!!

My CH is 8pm we have the choice of 4 or 5 for ceremony. we're opting for the 5 because we're worried about what the guest are going to do in between. the RH is 15-20 minutes away from the church. i think we'll be fine with travel time and picture time i'm just worried about the guests and i don't want to burden my folks by having everyone at the house until it's time for CH either.
Hmmm....

i would go for the ealier time so you can get some nice outdoor shots before the sun goes down.... it gets much darker earlier in Oct.... i think it sets like 6/630ish
