Church Trouble...any advice

I don't know if any other you girls have encountered this but I'm so upset.

I have been back and forth with the church for the last month and one priest said that he was going to put me in the book, I was so excited and set up an appointment to meet with him. The only day he can get me in I have to go to a training class for my job. He suggested that I meet with another priest to do the inital booking. I call the other priest and he tells me that 2009 is soooo far away and that they won't be doing any booking until September of this year. It's upseting because I know that the other priest is putting names in the book and this priest isn't allowing me to do so..............any advice? Sorry so long but I can't believe I have to wait until September to book the church.

Similar thing happened to me.....and i will admit that i annoyed everyone who worked at my church until they put me in the book!

once you explain to them why you are waiting so long and why it is important for you to be married in that church and on that date and similar things, the priest might decide to pencil you in.

YES I had the same problem. When I called the church to see if I could book for Oct 09 they told me to wait till the end of the year. So basically the receptionist told me not to call till december of this year. There really isnt much I can do unless I go to the church where I made my communion and confirmation but its just shabby looking..good luck to you

I had the same problem...they told me to come back after Jan 1, 1008 and I wasnt happy with that response. I would call back the priest who is booking people to see if you can get it booked

I had a lot of problems with the first church i tried to book in. and it was the church i grew up in!

my advice to you is call back the first priest. set up another appointment. if the second priest isn't putting names in the book you probably don't have to rush too much in order to keep your date.

Also, explain to either priest that it's very important to you to get married in the church. Try the 'we're trying to do things the right way' line and you may get their attention quicker.

*there is no right or wrong way to get married or live your life. at least not in my opinion. however the Church has other views so sometimes you gotta tell them what they want to hear.
