I'm going tonight and I've never had Brazilian before - has anyone ever eaten here? Any good/bad reviews?
Thanks!

Re: churrascaria plataforma - midtown
I have never been ( it is not vegetarian friendly), but several of my friends have been on different occasions. They love it!! You have a coaster that one side is green and one side is red. As long as your coaster is green they keep coming by with these huge slabs of meat and fill your plate. When you turn it to the red that signals them that you are finished. I also have heard good things about the salad bar.

Thank you I'm the only non red meat eater in the group so I'll be all about the salad bar!

It is suppose to be a really nice salad bar!! DH always trys to get me to go there, but I think that they charge a flat rate and I can't justify a $65 salad bar. I don't know maybe they have something other then red meat.

It's VERY expensive. I've gone several times. The salad bar is wonderful, but I'm not sure how happy you'll be if you don't eat meat. (If you only don't eat red-meat, they also have chicken and sausage and turkey as well.)
Enjoy. Wish I was going! Haven't been since July.
ETA: There are no bad reviews of this place (as far as I know )
It's an upscale, classy place. And really good food.

I haven't been in about a year and a half, but last time I went it was $39pp...not too bad if you consider what you're getting (my DH is a meat freak, so he gets his money's worth).
They do a seafood option if you eat fish, but I don't think it's really worth it.
I wouldn't consider it too upscale either. you'd be fine in jeans.
It can get very very loud in there, especially on the nights they have live music.
Oh, and make sure you have a caipirinha!!

I just wanted to say that I really liked it. There was enough chicken and salmon (the wait staff was good about bringing over things that I asked for) and the salad bar was good. The desserts were awesome. But my meat eating group was seriously in heaven. It was definitely fun; I'd love to go when they have more live music (there was just a piano player last night).
Thanks again everyone for your filling me in!

Now I want to go!
Maybe you could extend your anniversary celebration into next week (or even into the next month) and go

You know, for a moment on Monday (when I still didn't know where he was taking me) I thought we might be going there!

OMG its so funny you mention this, I was just there yesterday! The food is excellent there. I went with some of my friends, one who was an exchange student in Brazil for a year, and she even said that the food is probably the most authentic she has had in the US. Give it a try!
