cinco de mayo ideas

We are having our wedding on cinco de mayo of next year and we want to incorporate something that has to do with it. We dont want our whole wedding to be the theme but maybe a detail added in here and there. Does anyone have suggestions or ever had a cinco party? TIA

Incorporate a Mexican station in the cocktail hour and maybe do some mexican cocktails as a signature drink.

Do different types of maragaritas!

If you are having kids to a pinata game for them.

My ex boyfriend and I had Cinco de Mayo parties every year - we used to have 'pin the tequila on the tourist', mexican hat dances with sombraros, dancing with moroccos, homemade pinatas, the theme colors of the party were the colors of the mexican flag, we had all different flavor margaritas and different Flans for dessert - there was all sorts of food but most of it probably wouldn't be wedding appropriate...maybe you could serve dos xxquis (sp??) or Coronas?? We always had soooo much fun. Good luck!

How about having the servers pass out shots of Patron at a certain point in the night??

Careful thought that could get ugly...

Margaritas, Mexican food, tequilla, Mexican beers (XX or Corona). Mmm... sounds like fun!

I do not want a cinco de mayo theme at all it just happened that we chose that date and realized it after the fact. How could we not do someting to honor the day so here's some ideas

mariachi band (high priced for that date)
signature drink - regular margarittas and frozen
fajita station (we're doing pallea too cause we love it even though it's not mexican)
i'll have the mexican hat dance at some point of the night just for fun.

Rehersal dinner will be a party w/ the cinco de mayo theme and decorations. I like to get creative and thought this would be fun for immediate family and bridal party
