Cingular customers... How do you like your service..

Do you like your service? Do you have good reception? in NYC and LI?

I would like to know this too since I have AT&T now and they are changing. I need a new phone too, but will wait until I decide whether to stay when it turns over to Cingular.

I have had them for almost a year and do not have any complaints except I wish they had direct connect!! I miss that!!

Do you have any problems with service in NYC? Todd wants to get a cell phone now.. he has become extremely paranoid and wants to know my whereabouts at all times lol (mind you, I HAVE a phone) lol

Cingular is garbage on long island. The two best services out now are Suprisingly Tmobile and also Verizon.

At&t and Cingular alone arent as good as tmobile and Verizon, after they merge they still wont be able to compare to tmobile or verizon. If I was you I would stay away from Cingular

never had any reception problems in NYC...sometimes,...if the wind is right my husband will get reception in the subway. I have even gotten it at the 5th ave station (E-train)

YOu can get phones for free when you sign up for one of thier plans and they arent bad phones either!!

I too have heard the same thing. I have T-mobile and I love it. My fh has at&t and when he doesnt have any service I have full Service. But Verizon has the best service. No matter where you are you will always have service.

FYI...verizon has free phones at circuit city as a promotion...well phones under $180 are free...

Same here. I've had no problems with it at all. I live in Queens and work on LI and never have issues. I've used it out of state as well, and despite roaming charges for certain areas because of my plan, I always have coverage.

My brother has Cingular and HATES it. He's always losing calls, no service in a lot of areas, etc, etc ... said that Verizon is the best service he ever had.
That's for NYC usage (Bronx, Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn mostly)

FH swears by Verizon too.

I currently have AT&T. I think it's OK, but FH had service during the blackout (Verizon), I did not (AT&T) ... he had service in the Poconos, I did not. So maybe Verizon is better in terms of coverage.

Friends that have Cingular are all now switching to Verizon, they all hated it - dropped calls, never getting voicemail.
I've had no problems with verizon.

I honestly got t-mobile only because I liked the phone they had. LOL And also my friends have t-mobile and I am a big text messager. I pay 10.00 a month to get unlimeted buddy to buddy and unlimited text messages. I have no problem with phone calls though. Does anyone else sometimes think that it also depends on the phone? I had a motorolla v60 with my at&t service and it sucked drop calls all the time (besides my antenna and everyone else i knew breaking off) I switched back to my Nokia and very rarely had a dropped call.

I have verizon...and I have no problems...EXCEPT, I want a new phone. I just want to upgrade my phone...I will sign up for a new plan...but they won't let me until I've had this phone for 20 month. Doesn't make sense to me.

I have had them all...starting with MCI, then AT&T, then Sprint, then back to AT&T, and now T mobile. I gotta say that T mobile has been the best service for me so far. I never get dropped calls, I always have service, and the calls are very clear. Not like Sprint where they are always advertising their clear calls and great reception, that just doesnt exist. At&t was good for me last year but their service as gone down hill and their customer service is horrible.
