I'm sure some of you went dress shopping in the city for your dresses...
My mom and i are planning a shopping day tomorrow and was wondering if anyone had any must-go ideas.
I was thinking kleinfelds...RK...but any others or any opinions for a fun day?

There is a bridal reflections in NYC also! Saks Fifth Avenue, Berdorf's all have bridal salons. Macy's in Herald Square also has a bridal salon.

Re: city dress shopping ideas needed
I bought my dress at the Demetrios Salon in Macy's Herald Square.
I also checked out Bridal Garden, a non-profit org that sells dresses that are generally in great condition (samples or worn once)...and the purchase is considered a donation, so it's tax deductable.

Just so you know if you plan on going to kleinfelds you have to make an appointment first. From your post it sounds like tomorrow you just plan on going to some places but most places require an appointment, except RK
but you need an appointment. i tackled this place, RK and kleinfelds

If you are looking for a certain designer, also try the salons of Pricsilla of Boston and Amsale. I had great experiences at both and they both carry fantastic dresses

Re: city dress shopping ideas needed
For me, I found about 3 appointments a day was realistic. I tried to get one earlier in the morning, one early afternoon, and one later afternoon. It requires logistical coordination, as some places open later, and some close earlier. This leaves time for lunch and debriefing.

You also need appts at Macy's 34th St. and Wedding Atelier so I would call them all and see if there's availability and plan from there. Don't know about Saks but you should call also, it would stink to go someplace and find out they won't take you because you don't have an appt.
