Classic Tiffany Setting

Does anyone know if I can buy just the mounting of a classic Tiffany setting? I am thinking of putting my stone into one.

TIA.

Tiffany & Co.

tiffany & co does not sell their settings separately. the only way to get one is to find one on ebay if someone happens to be selling it separate from their diamond. this almost never happens, and you'd have to find one made for your size diamond

there are a lot of tiffany-style settings that look pretty similar, or you could buy a pre-owned tiffany ring from signedpieces and possibly swap out their stone for yours

They won't sell them separately.

Why not just get one from somewhere else? There are tons that look exactly like the tiffany setting...

There are lot of good quality copies too, talk to a jewler that makes settings.

The setting is fairly simple. There are alot of companies that make it.

This is the best knock-off I know and they are located in NYC.. you can go in and see it yourself.

Here it is on UTube. I tried to find the platinum one but only found two-tone..comes in all metals..

My brother had a copy of the Lucida setting made for his fiance. It was half the price and he got a bigger stone with better clarity.

The funny part is, the jeweler offered to stamp it with Tiffany & Co.

Lol, he decided against that, seemed like wearing a Goach bag.

Check out www.whiteflash.com

It is a reputable company (I've seen it in many magazines). My fiance and I looked at diamonds in one particular store in (Jared's in PA)...we didn't like any of the settings at all!

I was looking for a setting similar to the Cartier and Tiffany settings...some people had suggested Whiteflash and my fiance ended up ordering the setting from there. I LOVE it...it's perfect...they have a Tiffany setting option...actually, they have 4 different types of tiffany settings....you will save a ton of money, too.

Mine is the platinum 'fine line' setting. I've gotten SO many completements on the setting alone...

FH got my ring at Good Old Gold, my setting is a tiffany replica in white gold. My aunt has the exact same setting in platinum, also from Good Old Gold.

Totally true but they may look like them but in reality many are bad replicas. If you do go replica, just choose carefully. There is more to a setting than just how it looks, a perfect setting presents the stone beautifully and is just right anglewise and everything for maximum sparkle.

That being said the Excel, Whiteflash and Gold Old Gold are good places to go. Even if the setting isn't 100% the same, the diamonds they sell are spectacular.

Read pricescope.com you will learn alot.

Re: Classic Tiffany Setting

My ring looks Identical to the Tiffany ring. it wasn't even on purpose. I liked the high 6 prong setting and FH got it and it had the knife edge platinum band. it looks exactly like the pics. He got it from a local brick & mortar. You can get them anywhere. Bring a picture to compare it and you will see how identical they are. Unless you really care about paying more for it to say Tiffany & Co. on the inside....Mine would have been almost $5K more... probably even more than that.
Ridiculous.
I <3 my ring!!

check Gennaro Jeweler's in Bellmore. That's where my ring is from, and I have the Tiffany settting but it's definitely not Tiffany's prices. It's the 6 prong setting with knife edges.

Re: Classic Tiffany Setting

I have this style setting and I didn't even know if was a Tiffany style! LOL. My stone was passed down to me from my grandmother and my husband had a family friend (who is a jeweler) do the setting. All I told him was that I wanted a high setting with 6 prongs. It looks JUST like the one that was posted on this thread.

I honestly had no clue that my ring was a Tiffany Style Setting until I saw this thread. I think any good jeweler can replicate this style.

Re: Classic Tiffany Setting

just beware...just because it is 6-prong and a knife edge does not mean it is a true tiffany setting. You really need to look at the basket that the diamond sits in.

When you say tiffany setting many jewelers will try and sell you just a 6 prong basket and that is not correct

The first pic is from blue nile a 6-prong setting. The second is the side view of THE Tiffany setting from their website.

A regular 6-prong will have trouble fitting a wedding band with it because the basket starts directly at the base. The Tiffany sits ontop of the base and is more like a clam shell not a claw.

This is what you should be looking for if you go to another jeweler and ask for Tiffany settings.

Re: Classic Tiffany Setting

Thanks! I will ask a jeweler if they have a six prong, platinum with knife edge.

Thanks, StaceyJill2009. I will bring this picture.
