just beware...just because it is 6-prong and a knife edge does not mean it is a true tiffany setting. You really need to look at the basket that the diamond sits in.

When you say tiffany setting many jewelers will try and sell you just a 6 prong basket and that is not correct

The first pic is from blue nile a 6-prong setting. The second is the side view of THE Tiffany setting from their website.

A regular 6-prong will have trouble fitting a wedding band with it because the basket starts directly at the base. The Tiffany sits ontop of the base and is more like a clam shell not a claw.

This is what you should be looking for if you go to another jeweler and ask for Tiffany settings.

Good info. Its funny but I actually prefer the 1st setting to the 2nd one (tiffany one)... LOL

Check out www.whiteflash.com

It is a reputable company (I've seen it in many magazines). My fiance and I looked at diamonds in one particular store in (Jared's in PA)...we didn't like any of the settings at all!

I was looking for a setting similar to the Cartier and Tiffany settings...some people had suggested Whiteflash and my fiance ended up ordering the setting from there. I LOVE it...it's perfect...they have a Tiffany setting option...actually, they have 4 different types of tiffany settings....you will save a ton of money, too.

Mine is the platinum 'fine line' setting. I've gotten SO many completements on the setting alone...

i second this, whiteflash made my wedding band, they are excellent! and because they are located in texas...no tax!

Also real Tiffany settings are not high, the fact that they aren't high is one of the trademark differences, so well highlighted in that example photo a couple of posts above.
