Ok, I'm not good on responses when someone pays me a compliment. I normally blow them off and change the subject or say something negative.
On your wedding day, other than saying 'Thank You' all day long, how can you respond to certain compliments made, particularly when you want to keep a conversation going? I'm very shy and not much of a talker.
For example, someone says, 'Wow, your dress is stunning?' or 'Wow, you look beautiful!'
Your suggestions can liberate me from my shell.

Re: Classy/Elegant Compliment Etiquette 101
Well, I think 'thank you' is the only response to 'you look beautiful'
But, for compliments that are made on a tangible item, you could embellish.
for example, 'Your dress is beautiful.' 'Thank you, I love the ______ and I'm so happy that I was able to have such a lovely gown'
'The food is great' 'Thank you, I am so glad you are enjoying your dinner'
