CLEANING: Stove/Oven

CLEANING: Stove/Oven

I use my Stove more than my Oven. I clean my Stove after every use, and since I don't really use my Oven (well...I used it a few times -- but I didn't make a mess) but I know one day I probably will.

So if you can share your cleaning tips:

How do you clean the top of your Stove and inside of your Oven?

What products do you use?

Ok, so you don't use your oven that much and you know you will eventually clean it, but as of right now you don't have to clean it....

why are you even thinking about this woman????!!!!

BTW-easy off works very well, but it's stinky.

I know it sounds silly that I asked. Well I guess I'm anticipating Spring to come -- so I could do my Spring cleaning

I wasn't bashing you-I just thought it sounded so funny. My oven is self clean but if you spill something on the bottom you have to get it up.

I use easy off. I don't have a self-cleaning oven.

You preheat the oven to 200 degrees then turn it off.
Spray the easy off all over - top, sides, bottom.
Close the door and let it sit for 10-15 minutes.
Then wipe and rinse and wipe and rinse and wipe and rinse until it's all clean. It's a process.

Buy long gloves, because it's bad for your skin and it's also bad to inhale the fumes so maybe wear a mask. Also be careful of the oven light, I always manager to break mine every time I clean the oven

For the racks, I usually spray them and let them sit in the sink for a while then scrub them with Brillo.

I have my DH remove the bottom of the oven (it pops out) and scrub all the way down the sides of the oven and the scrub that bottom part in the sink.

I have a broiler underneath the stove (most are on top now) so I do that at the same time.

Just be carefule of the burners and try not to spray them or clog them up
