cleaning the Gown

cleaning the Gown

Hello All. My wedding is coming up, my wallet is almost empty, and several expenses still ahead. I am looking for a recommendation for a garment cleaning place in the NYC area where I could clean my sample-sale gown for around $150.
The high-end places seem to charge a minimum of $250-$300, but that is out of my budget!

Please help. Thank you.

I've seen anywhere between $99 in dry cleaner's windows to $400.

My friend didn't have her gown preserved until 1 yr after her wedding b/c of the expense. if you keep the dress in an opaque bag away from light it should be ok for several months if not longer.

if your dress is soiled, you should probably get it cleaned asap so that the stains won't set.

Dear dleeny:

thank you for your response. Do you remember where you saw the place that cleans for $99?
I need to clean my gown before the wedding, since it is used and has visible stains (make-up stains, sweat stains etc).

Thanks so much.

I believe the place is in N. Bellmore. It's called Jim Jam and it's on Jerusalem Ave.
