Approximately how much is everyone paying? I just got a quote for $500. I wasn't expecting that. Is that the average?

Do you belong to the church/temple that the clergy belongs to?

Re: Clergy...for those getting married at their hall
my revrend told us to give what we thought she was worth - being she spent countless hours with us and talked to me many many times on the phone - came for our practice and my so many things we gave her a bit more than we planned to spend on an officient but thought it was well worth it i think it depends on what you are looking for in an officent

Rude awakening, huh? Io went thru the same thing, thinking they were like $100. The ones I found for hire were in the 500+ range. We ended up using the Pastor who did FH's grandparents vow renewal for their 50th wedding anniversary.

Re: Clergy...for those getting married at their hall
Does anyone know of a good reformed or liberal rabbi? I am of interfaith, FH is Jewish, and one rabbi we spoke with said i had to promise to raise our children Jewish in order for him to marry us. We just might end up raising our kids Jewish- but I don't want to do it because he made me promise. I couldn't believe that!!!
TIA girls :)

Re: Clergy...for those getting married at their hall
Pastor April from Church of the Ancient Ways (an LIW vendor) did the WOTY and she was so good. I'm pretty sure she'll do whater suits yu, religous, interfaith, spiritual , non religious. She always answers her FMs.

I'd say! I too was thinking, maybe like $200 tops!!! I saw a post from another bride and I was like, you know I should call around and see what they charge. Wow, was I surprised! I had such a nice conversation with the woman and she was telling me all the details...I could actually picture the ceremony as she was speaking...then she said the price...

We're paying around $500 -- it was an extra $100 for the pastor to travel to Westchester from LI.

We are paying $500. It's average. If you were getting married in a church it could be more expensive, there was a post last week about it.

Re: Clergy...for those getting married at their hall
I'm not paying anything - my cousin is an interfaith minister and is going to marry us. Since FH is Jewish and I'm Catholic and neither of us are religious we figured this would be the best way for us. Fm me if you are interested as she does any type of ceremony you'd like
