Re: CLM or VYC?
CLM's food was amazing. I visited VYC and hubby and I weren't impressed. The rooms were ok..outside too small IMO, and the BM didn't hook us up with anything. We fell in love with CLM right away and LOVEEEEEED Nick! food there was amazing.
I know people who went to VYC and LOVED it though....so it's a personal preference. Go to both and see what you like. I know VYC was like double CLM in price.
Check out my review for pictures of CLM..
Good luck! Go to both and go with your gut...do a food tasting at both. They both do them.

Re: CLM or VYC?
I went to CLM last week and going to vyc tomorrow I already saw both I think they will be comparable except cycle has nicer bridal suite and CLM has nicer outdoor area I think cycle will be much more pricey tho

Re: CLM or VYC?
if food is super important to you then go with CLM
FH & I had a tasting with them when we were searching for RH's and seriously it was prob the BEST catering hall food we ever had.
we didn't book them for other reasons, so i have no bias
but seriously their food was really good. like realllly realllly reallly good!
went to a wedding and 2 holiday parties at VYC and was not impressed with food.
CLM gives you a free tasting before you book, you should ask about this and decide for yourself!
I also think the ballroom at CLM is much nicer than VYC but just my opinion.

Re: CLM or VYC?
The entire reason I picked CLM was because of the food........I have been to weddings all over and CLM had the best food for a catering hall. I didn't get to eat much the day of so I'm dying to go to another event there just so I can eat

Re: CLM or VYC?
Here are my thoughts after investigating both. First of all lets face it, they are very similar. They are in the same area (about 10 minutes from eachother) on the water with water view, elegant and mainly white inside. VYC had the better bridal suite. CLM had a much more elaborate and spacious outside. CLM can do 2 affairs at a time and VYC can do 3. I hear over and over that CLM has good food and i hear again and again to be weary of VYC food. CLM also has unique extras like yacht arrival.
That being said you would think they would be comparable in price? Not at all. I was quoted much more from VYC and he seemed non-negotiable while CLM made it clear that they are always willing to work with you and many other brides on here have backed that up. I dont know what VYC has to offer that they think makes them worth so much more and I wish I could figure it out! The place might be fancier and nicer looking I agree but in my opinion CLM is the better choice.
However, The Riviera in Massapequa is another nice venue on the water and it seems like they try to beat CLM's prices. Different style but caters to only one affair at a time and I've been to a wedding there and the food was fabulous (and sooo much of it) It may not be as well upkept but if your looking for the absolute best value I think at the end it will be The Riviera.
Thats my take.

I have been to both and I would choose VYC based on an overall review combining decor, food, ambiance, service, etc.

Re: CLM or VYC?
I've never been to CLM, but every interaction we had with VYC was great, from the planning process to the wedding day and even afterwards (when we realized we had left some thigns behind in the bridal suite.)
Food was phenomenal both during cocktail hour & sit-down dinner. We had a great bridal attendant, a great maitre'd who even called the outside vendor for us b/c that vendor forgot something. VYC looked great when it was sunny and still looked fantastic during our tasting when it was raining outside. It was clean, great food, amazing service. DH & I couldn't have asked for anything better.

VYC is stunning, you really cant take that away from them. the rooms are all brand new with marble. I would have picked them if they weren't so far from hotels.

That's a personal opinions. We thought the rooms looked run down. It wasn't our style.

Good point, but for any potential VYC brides, we were able to book the Courtyard by Marriot Farmingdale & they offered us free shuttle service before and after the reception.
