Closing Date Question

Does 4 months sound like a long closing especially if no one is living in the house???

If no one is living there, I would think they would push for a quick closing . What would concern me is that your house is going to sit for 4 months completely unoccupied, seems like it might become a target for some mischief.

It does sound long especially because no one is living in the house. Our contract to closing was 2 months and people were living in the house.

We went to contrat mid March and should be going to closing any day now.

That seems long to me for a vacant house.

Did they give you a reason?

the house has been vacant since August last year...A contractor bought the house & gutted it...So of course he isn't living in it...It is actually my FH who had the lawyer put the closing out that long...I personally thought he was nuts! I don't want to loose it over that!

kristen!! no we waited 6 months for our house... it was so worth it in the end, and it did go by quick!! where is the house!!

That is a relief to know Megan that someone else was in the same boat! I REALLY want this house & get nervous everytime something happens...The house is in Wantagh...I will post more about it once I know that we are in contract...Don't want to jinx myself!

from initial offer to closing it will be about a month and a half for us, the seller has already moved (she was living there until maybe a few days ago) and we close tomorrow!

we were on the fast track...
