I know this is different for all babies, but I am just trying to get an idea.
Sophia has tons of 3-6 month clothing - and it all looks HUGE! She still swims in a lot of her 0-3 month stuff (except the ones that shrunk in the wash). She is I guess around 8 -9 lbs now. Does this mean her 0-3 month stuff will last her into maybe 4th and 5th month? And the 3-6 will last through the Fall? It's such a shame...so much of it is great Winter into Spring stuff and she's just going to be too small, and too big for them for next year!

Re: clothing sizes..
Molly is 12lbs and today is 12 weeks old. She is just now starting to outgrow some of her 0-3 months stuff and wear a bit of her 3-6 months stuff. I just started to wash the 3-6 months stuff the other day in fact. Is this all winter stuff that you have? If so, you might want to keep the tags on and return them for spring stuff.

Re: clothing sizes..
that's a good idea michele. a lot of it still has the tags -I guess I'll do that. She's 7 weeks tomorrow and I am guessing around 8-8.5 lbs. So she's not gonna get too big anytime soon!
Happy Birthday Molly!

Re: clothing sizes..
To give you an idea of another small baby: Annalise was 6-1 at birth. She started wearing 3-6 month clothing around 10 weeks. I will have to check her weight card when I get home, but I think she weighed around 10 lbs when she outgrew them. They were probably too short first. She got lots of use out of 3-6 clothing and almost skipped 6-9 months clothes. Some kids are the opposite depending on when they have a growth spurt.

Re: clothing sizes..
I would suggest (after packing away sooo many adorable outfits that just don't fit anymore and weren't even worn) keeping tags on until you are sure you want to/can use them and exchanging stuff if necessary. Once Ryan started growing, he was literally like a weed. I bought stuff that he couldn't wear 2 weeks later..what a waste.
He's 9 months and wearing 18 mos. clothes so you just have to play it by ear and see how it goes...it seems that the old 'double the age' thing works...

yes lee - this is a very good lesson learned!
I guess I'll just keep tags on until I know what's what!

Re: clothing sizes..
Jenny, I agree about the tags, but just wait, she is young and will grow very quickly! Lyla was like Annalise, 6 lbs at birth, but has been in the 50th percentile for weight and a little over in height. So, she has been in the right size for part of the time that she is the age that goes with the size, and then moves up. For example, she's 8 months now, and I noticed her 6-9 started gettting tight about a week or so ago. So, I'm starting to pack up the 6-9 and I washed a bunch of the 9-12 last week. Also, remember that we are at the end of winter, so you will need spring and summer stuff soon!

Re: clothing sizes..
Learn from my mistakes and return whatever you think you wont use NOW. I trecieved many outfits for JUlianne's welcoming ceremony back in 4/03. Kept holidng on to 9-12 month outfits that were summery just thinking it may fit her sooner. Never happened....and now when I went this monday to return some stuff ...they wont accept it...it is for the wrong season..or isn't in their computers.
Return it if you think you will not use it... save the $$ or refund certificate...and use it to buy stuff in the sizes she is NOW.
Julianne must be about 21 lbs...and 13 months old. ( long and slim)..so she needs 18 month pants...and still fits into some 6-9 tops!
